To apply for a temporary license, please visit the Temporary Licensure Overview Page. The Board may issue a temporary license for no longer than 180 days to an individual, who is a new graduate of a program and is waiting to take the national registry examination or waiting for the results of their examination.
Licensees currently working toward their MRI Registry must complete this form MRI Conditional App. Upon passing your MRI national registry exam simply request a new license and show proof of MRI credential earned. A copy of your card or other ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) documentation of passing the exam and a request via mail or email to update your license. There is no fee/charge for this application.
Licensees who want to begin the practice of Sonography must complete this form Sonography Conditional App. You must have a conditional license before you can begin practicing sonography. The conditional license is a two-year license. You will be required to meet certain requirements within the first year to prove you are actively working toward registration. The conditions will be listed in the conditional letter you will received once your license is issued. There is no fee/charge for this application.

Applicants who are not currently licensed with the Board and currently do not hold a registry, begin here Conditional Licensure Application for CIS/CES or Sonography. The Board may issue a 2-year conditional license to an individual that graduated from a Sonography, CIS/CES program and/or is actively working to fulfill requirements for registry with ARRT, ARDMS, CCI, or taking the ND state administered exam.
